Hacking Forwarders are back!

It doesn't seems to be a forwarder (nand loader is unknown to me and there is no reference to a .dol or .elf path in the .dol), I think it's a full channel. Ask to the original author it this is really a forwarder.

Thanks for checking it out for me, I know the other 3 or 4 channels I tried to do myself were full channels, that link came up in another forum as being just a forwarder; can't recall the source as I've gone through a bunch tonight trying to find a straight up forwarder. If I find one I'll post it here.

yeah, i used mastershoes thread as well and asper told me they were not forwarders and then told me i cannot make any more requests. it's easier to just follow fix94's instruction in the first post of this thread and make your own... that is what i did, now i have channels for everything.

@Pattonfiend67, I tried making my own last night with a few different full channel wads, and they installed fine but froze after selecting start in the channel. What is your exact Wiimednafen path (with caps and such) I have a feeling thats my issue

it has to be a problem with his forwarders then, in the fact that they are full channel wads, and not forwarders at all... seems to be happening to every single person who got forwarders from his thread and posted them here for you to convert for vWii.

it's just too bad that these people who are unknowingly downloading his stuff only for you to tell them that they are not forwarders at all and that they get to make no more requests. probably 90%+ of the people on this forum don't even know how to check whether it's a forwarder or not. just being a little hard on them, is all.

do not think that i am unappreciative, because that is not the case at all. in fact, i think it's great that you are taking your own time to help others out, i wish more people were like you. anyway... i am going to download his 200mb "forwarder" pack with every thing he's posted and go through and check them, because this is ridiculous...

i did not use his full channel wads, i found different and actual forwarders and made them that way.

FYI - All my forwarders ARE forwarders, with only a handful of exceptions (only wad manager pops into my head) the .dol's are compiled through devkitpro with Fix94's sources, then inserted using Waninko base with CustomizeMii. For some reason, anything i compile with v14 (except for certain forwarders that required a build with comex base which unfortunately includes wiisx and wii64) will work via wii and (v)wii.

I have a question for you: if you open with an hex editor the 00000002.app file of a forwarder you will be able to see, at a certain location, accepted paths for boot.dol or .elf or both... in the few above mentioned forwarder(s) those paths aren't present so I think it is not a forwarder. Add the fact that 00000001.app of those forwarders (00000001.app is the nand loader) is of an uknown size (at least to me so no comex's or waninkoko's) so things are 2:

[1] those particular problematic forwarders aren't "standard" forwarders and have accepted paths "encrypted" (very very strange)
[2] they are full channels and not forwarders

Can you please "unveil" this mistery ?


@Pattonfiend67: so we speak the same language I am only tired of people asking things that simply are answered in the "previous thread page"; if you don't know how to check if it's a forwarder or not ask it, but in that specific case answer is in the thread pages... and usually users are too lazy to read the entire thread, they want all and immediately, but this is an usual arguing in a forum... anyway I appreciate that you appreciate my work !

I've been talking with Fix on a few occasions to try and figure it out, but i haven't heard any feedback from him recently, so no conclusions have been reached yet. Good thing is I have about 60 forwarding .dol's that are interchangeable between wii or (v)wii without any additional editing... so I'm not complaining at all!

But one thing is for sure, they are definately forwarders and NOT channels, nair mind what your hex editor tells you!

Anyway I think you meant "forwarding .wad's" and not dols because the forwarding dols (00000002.app) works between vWii and Wii (I never changed them, only create a new one if a specific forwarder was mssing); the thing that is not working is the nandloader dol (00000001.app) that must be replaced (not in all cases, for now I am sure that Comex's one is not working while waninkoko's yes) with Fix94 ones.

I hope that Fix94 will "waste" a few minutes digging that out !

No, i didn't. I meant that I have 60 pre-compiled forwarding dol's that i can insert into any forwarder and have them work between wii and (v)wii.

It seems to be related to NTSC only; I don't have an NTSC Wii nor WiiU so I am not able to replicate the problem.
This is a new version repacked from official channel posted in your main download site. Can you please test it ?
I think the problem is in the forwarder .dol (contained inside the forwarder).

I'm sorry for the delay in getting back to you about this, especially considering how quickly you turned around another copy to try! I removed the old one and installed this one and have launched it four or five times now without the issue recurring. It seems that this version is fixed.

I just tried a new program another member wanted me to test out called WiiBooter. It is similiar to Gecko OS, but allows cheats for WiiWare/VC games in WiiMode. The program does work fine in WiiMode and was wondering if a forwarder channel could be made for it...

I came up with a clever way of tagging my channel banners:

I (noob) have installed forwarders on vwii using mmm. some work but some just bring me back to wii menu. the ones that don't work are wiixplorer, snes9xgx, and fce ultra gx. when installing using mmm it is set on ios58 and gives me an error. if I change to 236 it cant mount sd. ios 249, 250, and 251 will install the wad, but when opening forwarder I get sent back to wii menu. I have made sure the paths are correct but it still does not work. Also the snes9xgx forwarder with magaman, Yoshi, and link works, but the one with Mario does not. Any ideas why? I have a deluxe wii and used smash stack exploit if it matters.
