It seems to be related to NTSC only; I don't have an NTSC Wii nor WiiU so I am not able to replicate the problem.
This is a new version repacked from official channel posted in your main download site. Can you please test it ?
I think the problem is in the forwarder .dol (contained inside the forwarder).

I had this issue in one of the channels. But i just tried USB LoaderGX forwarder again (the original one you posted) and there's no problem or distortion. I was going to test the new one you posted, but I can't replicate the issue I was seeing anymore. Maybe the OP of that problem can report. If it happens again I'll report back. Thanks for all the forwarders! :)

Thanks for making a new one. I hope someone with that problem can test it.
I don't have USBloaders on vWii, and my Wii is PAL so it would not affect me (if it's NTSC only like you said).
I don't know if the problem is in the forwarder code, maybe the video mode is not properly re-initialized (but I never check forwarders sources.)

If it is the dol sources, then why it doesn't do it in NTSC Wii too?
Maybe vWii is different due to the upscaling? Why only NTSC?

Users with this problem are using HDMI + 1080p, right?

i have tried it with both asper's and my usb loader gx forwarder and i have not been able to replicate it through hdmi or component...

You are welcome ! It can also be a TV problem that may occur even wthout the launch of the channel forwarder... further investigation/tests are needed.

PS. I am using HDMI.

I will test later this evening. When I was testing to determine the cause in the first place, I did identify a few things that may be helpful in troubleshooting until I can test the new forwarder and report back.

1) It does not happen every time you use the forwarder. In my case, it happened 7 out of 10 times I was testing.
2) The location of the bar does not seem to be static. It has varied in my case all across the screen. In every case, it is the same size and shape.
3) The distortion itself manifests as a horizontal bar across the screen that is difficult to notice when the picture is static, however motion reveals an interlacing between frames throughout the area. The height of the bar is fairly small.
4) It does not happen if you do not use the forwarder. Homebrew channel and USB Loader GX do not exhibit this behavior (nor does the Wii System Menu) if the forwarder is not used.

As to whether it's a TV related issue, here are the pertinent specs on my setup in case it helps:

Mitsibushi 73" DLP HDTV and WiiU connected to a Denon AVR-3310CI receiver over HDMI. All equipment is NTSC-U. All HDMI cables are latest spec, rated for 3D.

I have not tested to see if the problem recurs if I connect the WiiU directly to the input in my TV as doing so would not really be feasible based on how my setup is wired.

I have not used other forwarders to see if the issue recurs there, as the only thing I've got on the WiiU is USB Loader GX right now.

@asper
if you wouldn't mind updating the genplusgx forwarder with this one, http://www.mediafire.com/?bioi530cwuh74tq
it checks:
usb:\apps\genplusgx\boot.dol
sd:\apps\genplusgx\boot.dol

as im having issues with the two genplus forwarders that only check the sd (the one on the first page is still giving a ticket error on install. the other one installs fine but when i open it, it reads the dol successfully and hangs on loading dol...

Done; test it and tell me if it works: LINK (usually the black screen after loading a forwarder is dued to the fact that the boot.dol folder name is wrong, please chech also upper-lowercase - how can you say "it reads the dol succesfully" ? And if it succesfully run the boot.dol the problem should be in the boot.dol not in the forwarder).

Love these, they work great:)

If people are still taking requests, would these be possible to round out my emulators?

Wii2600 [/sd/apps/wii2600/boot.dol](http://www.wiibrew.org/wiki/Wii2600)
Hugo [/sd/apps/hugo-gx/boot.dol] (http://www.wiibrew.org/wiki/Hugo-Wii)
WiirtualBoy [/sd/apps/wiivb/boot.dol] (http://www.wiibrew.org/wiki/WiirtualBoy)

Would be much appreciated. TIA.

Requests ONLY if you have an already working Wii Channel Forwarder (WAD link please).

Aw snap. Downloaded all forwarders and realized that these are for Wii U. xD

They are for vWii under Wii U.

that new one is working for me off my usb drive.

what i meant by it reads the dol successfully, when i launched the channel it would detect the dol (display the file size then have some ---s, then say loading dol and hang there)

New Hugo-Wii Channel Forwarder for vWii !

Works with the following path: SD :\apps\hugo-gx\boot.dol
=======================================================================

Other 2 are full Channels not forwarders. Sorry, I was clear about that, to avoid time-wasting (mine) you should properly check the stuff you link; no more request from you.

I'm sorry but that has to be one of the ugliest banners I have ever seen. Did you just take the icon.png and make it bigger?

Of course, like the ACCIO HACKS one :P
Unfortunately I wasn't able to find a forwarder for Wii (but I added a pretty "bird" sound :P)

EDIT
A full pack can be found here.
New forwarders, after this post date (if there will be any) will be missing in that pack. Thanks to wiiuhax for the repack (Settings Editor GUI seems to be out of it).
