Hello! I have a modded 3ds and I was thinking of formatting my sd card because I have a lot of useless folders and files on it. After I format the sd card, do I just paste the two luma boot files on the empty root of the card? Will the 3ds create all the other folders when I put the sd card in?
Also, what does the sd card actually hold? Are there some data that I need to keep? And is the save data from physical cartridges kept on the console, the cartridge or the sd card? I'd like to back the saves up before wiping everything.
Thank you in advance!

Save data for physical cartridges is on the cartridge, save data for digital is on the sd card

Copy the "Nintendo 3DS" folder from your old card to the new one and you should be good to go

Everything else is homebrew stuff (and stuff like camera photos and videos) which you can always copy over or replace at your own pace later if you ever need it
