Hacking Formatting Issue

im having problems getting this card to work. i put the akaio firmware onto the card, and i get a system error on the dsIxl and it gives me an error telling me to restart the ds. when i use it on my ds phat it says "system file is missing".

current contents of the folder:

_aio (Folder)

ak2ifw_update_14_DSi_new

ak2ifw_update_14_DSL_new

akmenu4

wat do?

Looks like you have troubles with slot for msd (bad contacts between your msd and ak)

Try to reinsert the msd.

btw. the way to that folders are...

x:/__aio
x:/akmenu4.nds
x:/ak2i_update_14_DSi_new.nds

where X means your MSD in PC... Right?

Not saying I know what the problem actually is here but...

1. The system error you get when you try on the DSiXL I'm guessing is because the card has yet to have the update applied.
(Ak2ifw_update_14_DSL is what you can use on the DS once you have akaio loading properly. iirc the other can be used if you have a pre-1.4 DSi. Both do the same update, one runs off the DS and the other off the DSi.)

2. System Files missing when you try on the DS means its not found akaio.

So..

Have you checked that these files have the correct .nds file ending (At least I think the akmenu4 is .nds?). I have not got the DS near me to check sorry.
It should be v. easy to get it running first on the DS (Not DSi until you have updated it... by running the update like you would load a rom).

Reformat the MicroSD card as the guide on here.

Redownload all the files incase you had a corrupt download, and then extract them fresh to the root directory of the MicroSD card.

also, how do i actually get this "update" to work? do i boot up the card in my phat, run it, then put it in my XL?
