Hacking Folder NUS in SD card

Hello.

I am in a cleaning process of a SD card used for SoftMod a 4.2 Wii and I found a folder called 'NUS' in the root of the card.
I suppose this is the place where the stuff downloaded from NUS were placed to be installed.

Is it as I think? Can I safely delete the folder from the SD card?
