Is it just me, or does it look really tacky when images in a theme are obscured by the highlight bar of a file system, the filenames of games/saves/folders, or the clock/calendar, even when these images were meant to be seen? Or when there's a character shown on the screen that has the file system, and the highlight bar and text is going over them?

I don't think there's a way to remove the highlight bars though (using Wood R4).
Sometimes it is really tacky when the images are covered but some are done well, don't feel like getting the DS right now, but one of Black Rock Shooter themes and Paper Luigi theme seem to not have characters hidden behind random image.

Also it kind of depends on the theme but generally yeah it is pretty tacky to have the image covered up.

I've found it to be such a problem the only themes I've found that I've liked was the one Smugleaf Wood theme and some World Ends With You theme.
That reminds me of LEZ:PHG when it took me forever to draw a 7

But anyway, kinda weird that it was a eye issues, but good for you nonetheless

Wrong thread, guy.

Most themes I've seen sucked ass for reasons like this. They generally fall into one of two categories...

1 - You can't tell what folder you're in or what the filenames are because the background is so noisy and contrast-filled.

2 - The background is nice, but the important bits are obscured by text, as stated.
