Back in October, Famitsu announced that a Final Fantasy iPhone game was in the works. From that, Square Enix unleashes Crystal Defenders for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Even though it's not exactly a Final Fantasy game, it's based on Final Fantasy Tactics using job classes from the series as well as using the A2's music throughout the menus and gameplay. It's basically a defense simulator, in which you place your units on the field and start the enemy waves, hoping you've built up enough forces to stem the tide. There are 3 levels, W1-W3 with increased level difficulty. Price of the game is $7.99.

I saw this the other day... looks pretty nice, but I don't see why they need to take up half of the screen for the controls. Makes it seem like it was originally made for the DS or something...

I think it was. Contrary to what Raiyu245 claims, it's available on the iPod classic, Nano, etc. The iPhone+iTouch version seems to have been adapted from them by adding the controls. When I'm home later I'm going to buy this for my classic, I bought the other Square game as well.
