Next week will mark the release of the FINAL 3DS game! Unless Nintendo throws something out at E3, this is it kids!

I gotta say, I'm a little sad. The 3DS has been a great system. Lots of good memories from carrying this little handheld around.

Here is what we will all be left with:

R.I.P. 3DS. You served us well!

What Nintendo should do is announced its final 3ds game as either a mario sunshine remake or mario sunshine running on the mario 64 engine like that latest hack coming out. I mean if they ported wii games to the 3ds why couldnt they a gamecube game called mario sunshine?

Why would they waste the effort when it'd do much better and have much more potential on the Switch? It's time people let the 3DS go and move on to greener pastures.

I doubt the system will die like that. Every good game system takes as much time to completely die off as it took to live. Look at the ps2 or the 360. Also, they can't kill the console right after the last game - that game needs time to sell, at least for a couple years. The homebrew community will still live, at least until nintendo releases a new handheld system (the switch doesn't count) and ports will still come out too. The 3ds is about to start its last cycle.

LOL.
People need to realise that just because a system is at EOL (or no longer being produced) doesn't mean it's dead.

The Vita is still seeing physical releases (thanks to Limited Run and EastasiaSoft), and actually has it's Shakedown Hawaii digital release available now (unlike the tentative 3ds version).
The 8 and 16bit consoles of the 80's and 90's still see a steady supply of "unofficial" releases, and the Dreamcast is getting regular releases, almost 18 years after its "death", that could actually be considered semi-official.

There's no such thing as a dead system - just current and/or legacy player bases.

Well the official silver falls website says release date is early 2019, but it's already June, and there has been no word on it since like January, might have gotten the axe, too bad though it looks pretty cool

They already ported a GameCube game to the 3DS: Luigi's Mansion.
