Its in the castle basement, at night. Or so Im told. Havent started the game yet.

U dont need the water tome. you can use other magic and still win

I did it with three Arctic Winds I bought at the store.

Hey,
to "make it night" just step outside the village and wait, should take 20 sec.
Then you go back in the castle and in the floor after the first magic circle in one of the sideways (doesn't matter wich). In the magic-studie rooms should now the staircase in the basement be clear. The water tome is at the end of the basement.
To get to the sandcastle you just need to go northeast after leaving the village. The castle is also on the merkmal (your map).

get a lot of Arctic Winds get fire spells then

through 1 Arctic Wind at him then he will freeze or something, then use magic until he unfreezes then repeat till he is dead
