Yes, I am fairly lost - but at least I'm a little down the road. This is what I've done so far:

- Downgraded to 3.2U (from 3.4U)
- Installed Custom IOS36 rev 08
- Installed MPlayer CE v0.4
- Installed Star...thing..it makes things region free (I forget what its called.)

My question is, did I miss anything? I'm very confused with all the different types of applications and I'm not sure which ones I need that do the job best.(DVDX...?)

What is the best solution to enable region free wads/ISO's run on a NTSC console?
What about running backups, what software do you use or is the best out now?
What other software have you added onto your Wii that you think is essential to running homebrew or DVDs (since you downgraded and install a new custom IOS)?

A little sense of direction would really help so I don't install a bunch of outdated applications on my Wii or do something wrong.

Many thanks!

Waninkoko's WAD Installer and Wiigator's Backup Launcher Gamma.

And, yes, you should install the DVDX stub.

Go find a guide on the backup launcher, it'll tell you everything you need. There's a nice one on Instructables.

And the wad installer should just work, but watch out; installing WADs can brick your wii.

It can act as a swap drive but that isn't more RAM, it's slooow.
