I have Nintendo DS Lite + AceKard 2.1 Black (AKAIO 1.9.0) + EZ Flash V 3in1+ (GBA ExpLoader v0.58b by Rudolph & GBALdr v0.1 final by Cory1492)

Over a year ago everything worked fine and haven't changed anything when it comes to firmware or hardware (DS was just lying around with EZ Flash in it). Yesterday I decided to see If EZ Flash still works. Sadly neither AKAIO nor GBAExpLoader couldn't detect it so I was pluging and unpliging it until finally EZ Flash became recognizable. I managed to run Pokemon Emerald via AKAIO just once. Right now I can't play any GBA game no matter if I use ExpLoader (both NOR and PSRAM), GBALdr or AKAIO. Just GAMEBOY logo on white screen and that's it. Also GBALdr gives me this: "Font started OK. Starting FAT. FAT started OK. Prototype test failed. - halting now -"

I reapeat: it's not the firmware/software because everything worked fine over a year ago. My EZ Flash probably have like 3 years. Does it mean it's completly dead?

Cartridge pin connection problems. Fix is to take out the cart and plug it back in, repeat until your loader of choice can see you got a 3in1 plugged in again. You have to power cycle the DS to do this, slot 2 IS NOT HOT SWAP-ABLE.

The 3in1 has no moving part other than the rumble motor. You are not going to have any real issues other than the battery dieing on you sometime after 3 year. You can replace the battery relatively easily by following the battery guide here:

http://gbatemp.net/threads/guide-change-your-ezflash-3-in-1-battery-w-pics.132872/

or get a battery similar to the one in the maintenance section here: http://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-tell-which-version-of-the-3in1-you-have.130659/

My 3in1 was a gift from the EZ Team that I got right before sales started. Unfortunately, it had problems with the rumble from the get-go and read intermittently. It deteriorated from there but I still have just in case.

But I can get AKAIO/loaders to see my 3in1. I wrote that I managed to run Emerald just once and now 3in1 is visible by software but when I try to run GBA games I just get GAMEBOY logo on white screen and GBAldr gives me the error.

Pictures in the battery topics don't work so It will be hard for me to change it. I will try to clean the pins with alcohol (Can I use salicylic alcohol which have some ethanol in it?)

I honestly don't know how that would work. It could potentially tarnish the pins or even eat away at them. You could try using the pencil eraser approach instead.

So I cleaned it up with pencil eraser and with dry qtip since I don't have rubbing alcohol and now no mater how many times I plug and unplug software just don't detect 3in1. What do?

battery guide is also in pdf form on filetrip: http://filetrip.net/nds-downloads/f...der-less-battery-replacement-guide-f5890.html

The pins in your DS is likely bent inward and likely do not touch your 3in1 when you insert it. You can either bend them back into shape and risk breaking them or you can use a small strip of plastic to raise the contacts so they do touch like how they do it in this: http://gbatemp.net/threads/solving-acekard-contact-issues.231412/

If your still having issues trying to get it to work, you can always buy a new 3in1, assuming your old enough to buy one.

Tried paper trick and sometimes It got recognized but still same problems, just gameboy logo on white screen, AKAIO couldn't even blank NOR or run GBA games. I'm assuming It's just broken somehow and I need to buy a new one. Sadly there's no 3in1+ anymore. Maybe you recommend something instead like EZ Flash IV or M3 + GBA Expansion Pack or Supercard DSTWO + TempGBA emu? The cheapest option still be 3in1.

If your going to be using the slot2 for pokemon specifically, you should have went with a M3 GEP, does not require you to even patch any pokemon ROMs with a RTC patch since it has a RTC on the M3 GEP. Or you can buy a EZ-Flash IV, same thing as the 3in1 minus the rumble pack.

In Canada: http://www.gamersection.ca/product_info.php?cPath=30_36&products_id=730

If your wondering why I point to this rather than someplace in the EU for you, that is because the majority of vendors (that would be worldwide) no longer carry DS accessories and related items. They all moved onto the slot1 and 3DS related items.

Go do something, I gave you enough options for you to choose from.

I did what I can and it's broken. I won't change the battery since it's not battery problem. I will buy new 3in1 from there probably: http://www.nds-card.com/ProShow.asp?ProID=153. About M3: do I need M3 slot1 card for M3 GBA to work?

No, I am not 100%, it is more like 40000% sure.

You don't need the patched versions of GBA ExpLoader to use it with the M3 GEP.

Do be aware that a default install of AKAIO affects GBA ExpLoader, see the BUGs, fixes, and weird behaviors section to see how to fix this issue if you have not already done this: http://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-tell-which-version-of-the-3in1-you-have.130659/

Thank you very much for information. Regarding this issue:
"BUG: A default install of AKAIO causes gba exploader to freeze randomly.
FIX: Copy the ak2_sd.dldi from the official firmware in the __ak2 to your __aio folder on your MicroSD, overwriting the AKAIO ak2_sd.dldi."

I don't even have __ak2 folder in AKAIO 1.9.0. ak2_sd.dldi is in the __aio folder from the start so I don't understand this advice.

what are you talking about, Ewin is not a ELink.

33329_1_large-340x255.jpg

This is an Ewin.

That's an old Ewin2 GBA flashcart with miniSd, like the old Supercard MiniSD

I never said that Ewin = Elink !!!
GBA_Exploader supports:

- EZIV Lite Deluxe
- EZ Flash V 3in1
- M3 GBA Expansion Pack
- Ewin Expansion pack (2in1)

It does not support the Elink cause you upload roms to that with a special usb cable

When i said GBA_Exploader supports Ewin Expansion pack (2in1), i mean this one

IMG_20150104_003320.jpg

------------------------------------------------------
When i said Elink is not supported i meant this one: it uses an USB cable to flash multiple roms to
