Hacking EZ Flash Omega - Micro SD initial error!

I have a pretty serious issue with my EZ Flash Omega I've received today. No matter what I try I get the message "Micro SD initial error!" when either attempting to boot or update the firmware. I've tried 3 different SD cards (2, 16 and 32 gb), I've tried formatting in both exFat and fat 32 and have tried the cart in two different game boys (AGS-101 and OXY-001) and I keep receiving the same error message.

booting the cart in safe mode and running "Test Psram" lists:

• read S71 ID OK
• read s98 ID OK
• END

Is there anything else I could try before requesting a refund from the vendor?

Try cleaning the SD Card and card reader contacts with some isopropyl alcohol

Unfortunately, I'm getting the same result after cleaning.

Are any of you using any type of screen mod on the system? I made a backlit mod and found out that i needed to insulate the board contacts from the back of the screen.

No, both gameboys I've used to test are stock models.
