Hi,
does anyone know if it is possible to extract the savegame off a gba cart using a slot-2 SC lite?

Thanks!

You can use the Supercard to write saves to a retail GBA game, but you can't use it to read the save from a GBA game.

There is a program called cart_save that does exactly what you want, but from what I've heard it doesn't work on the slot 2 Supercards; you have to remove the Supercard to insert the GBA game, but when you put the Supercard back in the GBA/DS it won't work again until you restart the system.

Note that I haven't tried this myself (I don't have a Supercard), I'm just repeating what I've read. You might want to try it anyway, but don't get your hopes up.

Yup, I found savecart just after posting here. SCLite goes through the motions, seems like it will work, but upon reinserting the SCLite (last step!) the system reboots. Talk about disappointment!

I was hoping something else existed... Seems only solutions are Ez 3-in-1 related, right?

Thanks!

The 3-in-1 won't work for this purpose either, because it doesn't have DLDI support. You can use it to transfer a save to a GBA game with the Flashcart SRAM DLDI interface, but there is no way to copy a save from the GBA game to the 3-in-1.

The only flashcart that I know for certain can be used for getting saves off of GBA games is the G6 Lite. I have not seen reports about the M3 Perfect or EZ-IV, so they may work or they may not.

If you have a GBA with a link port (i.e. not a Micro) you can connect it to a PC via a link cable. Such cables were used to write data to the old GBA flashcarts. You can also build a cable for use with SendSave (same thing as cart_save, but with a link cable instead of a flashcart).

M3 Perfect works from what I've heard.

Supercards do work when they don't reset the DS, so Destructobot, you're thinking of the R4 and M3 Simply and why they can't use REINMOON or Eepinator.

If you push the right side of the Supercard in first and go really slowly, you might be able to prevent it from rebooting the DS. I've done it a couple of times on my Supercard miniSD, but it's too big a hassle to do all the time. I normally use my Flash2Advance USB cable with a GBA, which is quicker and easier.

It must take a lot of dexterity to do that. Tried some times, got my hopes high but it reset every time. Unfortunately I don't have a GBA, so I can't do it with cables.

Another thing, supposing I manage to do extract my save, do I need to convert it to some proper format (SuperCard, EzFlash, M3 or else)?

Thanks again!
