Hacking External power to PS3 BD Drive

Got a broken PS3 and got it fixed the only problem is that part of the chip that powers the bd drive is broken so the bd drive doesn't get any power. I was wondering if it would be possible to power the drive externally or if there would be another way to rip games to the hard drive.
