Homebrew Exiting game in any way powers off DS using twilight menu++

I'm trying to soft reset games on my r4 SDHC flashcart, it uses the r4ils folder for loader and autoboot. When soft reset using L+R+START+SELECT or reset/exit game using L+DOWN+SELECT and pick one, it turns of my DS lite or returns to the home menu on my 2dsXL. If I use the same ROM on my 2ds with the 3ds version of twilight menu it resets fine. I just want to know if its possible to do, or if I'm just doing something wrong.

It's been possible before, but soft-resetting/exiting got removed in order to make room for card read DMA, which basically improves game compatibility.
