Nope, that code was for a GB game. I don't think the Gamecube version has a debug mode.

Then I think you're outta luck. You could try to learn how to create the codes you want yourself; I did that when I couldn't find GBA codes I wanted. I don't know if making GC codes is easier or harder than that, but it might be something to look into.
