Gaming Ev/Ep training...?

Hey guys/girls. Well my friend told me about this Ev/Ep training for pokemon or whatever type of training it's called and i searched for some sites and read some stuff about it but i still didn't get anything whatsoever about it xD Other than you could gain lots of extra stat points that way and such ??

Anyone care to explain what it's all about for a newb?

EV Training Hotspot are below.
EVs: Location (Location description, Pokemon/Family [EV quantity apiece], run from unrelated pokemon)

HP: Route 201 (Bidoof [1], run from Starly), Windworks Valley (Shellos [1] and Bidoof, run from all others) and Route 222 (Gastrodon ONLY [2 apiece], run from everything else)

Attack EVs: Route 212 (Kricketune [2] and Bibarel [2], run from everything else)

Defense EVs: Iron Island Mines (Geodude family [dude 1, gravel 2] and Onix [1], run from Zubat Family)

Special Attack EVs: Old Chateau (The haunted house in Eterna Forest, Gastly family [Gastly 1, Haunter 2 *GBA SLOT*, Gengar 3 *GBA SLOT*])

Special Defense: Any SEA ROUTE (Tentacool Family ['cool 1, 'cruel 2], run from everything else)

Speed: Ravaged Path (that cave between Jubilife and Floroma, Zubats [1], run from Geodudes (if on land) and Psyduck (if surfing))

Note: Haunter and Gengar apparently show up in the Chateau only if there is an ADVANCE Generation Pokemon cart in the GBA slot.

baiscally, when you level up in pokemon, and yor stats go up 1 point, then that means you have had 4 EVs for that stat.

4EVs = 1 stat up.

you can only give ur pokemon 510 EV in total. and only 255 EVs to one stat.

you get EVs by battleing pokemon whos stast specialise in one thing.

EG

if you battle a zubat, they give you 1 speed EV. therefore battling 4 zubats gives you 4 EVs in speed, and 1 stat increace in speed.

so in this way, you use all 510 EVs to bring up ur pokemons stats so they can become superior.

so does that mean that it isn't all that useless to let my lvl 70 infernape battle a lot of zubats with, lets say, level 12 or something, because the speed ev's stack up so with the next level gained im getting quite a lot of speed stat points? or when do the ev's "convert" to stat points?

edit: and the effort ribbon is just a "reminder" ribbon that the ev's are maxed out? or does it boost something? and how do i get stat points even after having received the ribbon, since of course i still get more stat points after i gain one more level..!?

effort ribbon = 510 EV stats already used up - after this you cannot gain any more EVs so it doesnt matter where you train

yeah, but by lvl 70 i think infernape should probably have maxed out its EVs.... but if it hasnt, its 1 Speed EV every time

no no go a head, its just that you would have used a lot of EVs already on it what ever you have left, use them on speed if you want, so battleing zubats will be fine, whatever level they are at.

4 successfull battles with zubats will give you 1 stat increase in speed.

if you have the ribbon, then no...sorry, bnut there are berries thta wll take 10 EVs from ur pokemon... for each time you make it eat a berry, so you can do the EVs again.
