This thread is deemed irrelevant by my 3DS Recommendation Thread which is 100x better.

I can't quite remember if I voted in this already, though I'm pretty sure I don't think I did. If I accidentally double vote anything, I sincerely apologize, for that's not my intention. Anyway...

+1 Kid Icarus: Uprising
+1 The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D
+1 Super Mario 3D Land
+1 Cave Story 3D
+1 Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition
+1 Resident Evil: Revelations
+1 Star Fox 64 3D
+1 Mario Kart 7

-1 Kingdom Hearts: DDD (reason: The game is just awful. Bad voice acting, bad story, mediocre and gimmicky battle system, and overall underwhelming)

+1 for the following:
Kid Icarus Uprising
Kingdom Hearts
Mario Kart 7
Super Mario 3d Land

-1
Myst
Reasons: Game not in 3d like 3ds e-store claims. No touch screen controls. The circlepad controls the in-game pointer and the pointer returns to a default position which makes it extremely hard to interact with the smaller puzzle pieces. Also it disappointed the hell out of me. At 1/10th the price, the ds version is a lot better.

Well i have a number of votes to add.

But before we start I'd like to introduce you to my newest handheld I've got recently. Those who remembered the Club Nintendo contest where you'd win a free Mario edition 3DS system might remember I was one of the lucky winners, Since owning one for about 5 months now... I decided it's high time to make the jump to the big screen.... So i went into CEX a few weeks ago, And i traded in half of my 3DS collection and my 3DS system to get a Nintendo 3DS XL and a few other things... since my acekard2i no longer works, I have no DS games to play so with the money I got from my trade in I bought a few DS games to play.

Here's a picture of my system, I went with Red and Black because it looks the best in my opinion.

+1 Kingdom Hearts 3D [Dream Drop Distance] [RPG]
(Since I love the Kingdom Hearts franchise, It's no surprise I have given the +1 to KH3D... Not much to say, Love the worlds they've used in the game, Critical is actually challenging all the way to the very end, One complaint which i had with Birth by Sleep applies here too.... At times the framerate will chug it's guts up and literally drop it to a few frames, which make it easier for enemies to hit you...Other than that this games fully utilizes the capabilities of the 3DS system; But the game pushes it a little too far, and thus results in a number of glitches and frame-rate drops that are VERY noticeable, and ANNOYING!)
+1 New Super Mario Bros. 2 [Platformer]
(Every time they come out with a NEW Mario game I always wonder what's so new about it anyway... This game has some new features not seen in other games, This game has a HUUUUUUGE emphasis on coins.... And i mean seriously... Mario even has the Midas touch, Getting a Golden Fire-Flower results in the Plumber filling his pockets with hard-core CASH! Can you make him a Mushroom Millionaire? I recommend this game to any Mario lovers out there.)
+1 Epic Mickey : Power of Illusion [Platformer]
(This game is amazing, Those who adored the games Castle of Illusion and World of Illusion will be right at home with this awesome game, Short story but TONS of side-quests and many lovable Disney characters.)
+1 Fallblox [eShop]
(I have one word to say about this game and that word defines everything about the game... "Evil", pure evil... This sequel to the hit Pullblox really upped the difficulty compared to the original... the game has you pulling blox around in a grid and pulling or pushing certain blox if a blox is on top of the blox you pulled it will fall down and sometimes make the puzzle impossible to beat, Be ready to hit the reset button a lot more often than you did in Pullblox.. this one's a doozy.)
+1 Pix3D [eShop]
(Quite surprised at this one, for something so cheap... it has tons to offer, You move the picture so the pixels line up and form the shape in the bottom right corner of the screen, Depending on how fast you do it, or whether you are "stylish" yes if you use the stylus you get bonus points. Now the game offers a "create-your-own-pix3D-designs-mode" I love this, I made so many designs in this nifty creation mode.)

Another thing I am quite proud of finding lately. is I happened to have found "The World Ends With You" this game is sooooo rare and hard to locate in the UK that it isn't even funny... But for 25£... I caved in and bought it...

yall im torn... ive been hacking away at tales of phantasia GBA (the USA version) and have so many documents of reverse engineering i've done
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
why the shit does the shitbox randomly insert newlines in my messages
  • Veho @ Veho:
It does that when I edit a post.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It inserts a newline in a random spot.
