So guys, I just want to say I've been a terrible "host" for this thread, as I've yet to update anything since taking over. I had about 75% of the votes counted, and then I just kept pushing it back further and further, saying to myself "I'll do it tomorrow." Then just today, I realized I lost the document that had counted the votes... leaving me back at square zero.

Anyway, a few weeks ago, Shadow Soldier asked if he could take over. I'm starting to think that's a good idea, if he's still interested. I'll PM the mods about it, and hopefully we can get a complete, functional essentials list for the first time in who-knows-how-long.

Well, my main problem was just tallying up all the votes initially. I can easily keep it up to date, now that darius has gone to the trouble of tallying them all for me (much appreciated, man!). That said, if you really want to head this one yourself as well, I won't stop you.

Edit: I'm in the process of updating the OP as we speak. I just finished rearranging all the games in order, and now I'm going to spell check them, remove acronyms, etc. I may or may not get to genre coding them today.

Not saying everyone's opinion isn't valid, but someone with 5 posts here doesn't carry the same weight as someone with 500. At least if you're going to vote, stick around a bit and let yourself be known a bit better.

Well, none of the other essentials topics have that kind of limitation. Also, the idea of the essentials threads is to show what people overall think about what games are good for each system. Not some sort of closed off "proven members only" list. I don't see what makes someone's vote worth more or less just because of their post count.

Also, your votes have been added and subtracted, respectively. The OP gets updated very shortly.

Kid Icarus has been tallied. Crashmo is an eShop title, and this list is only for retail titles. Chavosaur has an entirely different stickied thread dedicated specifically to eShop games where you can put your vote for Crashmo.

Edit: OP updated! Haven't done anything fancy yet, or added genres, I just tallied the votes and sort of organized things. If you have ideas for a logo, or other aesthetic or organizational changes, please don't hesitate to let me know.

Also, I'm considering bumping up "recommended" titles from 10 votes to 15 votes. What do you think? Or is it balanced as is?

It's settled, then. "Recommended" will be bumped up to 15, "Noteworthy" will be moved to 10, and anything below will be "others".I'll fix that later tomorrow.
