Error when I try transfer game with DBI

Hello everyone,

Yesterday I was installing Batman Arkham Night on my Switch with DBI, and after a while installing, it stopped and gave me a "Transfer aborted" error.
I tried again and the same error occurred at another point in the transfer. On the third attempt, the game was successful.
The game is 8MB and the update is about 27GB.

I haven't had any transfer issues with DBI until now, although I must say I haven't regularly installed such "heavy" games.

The console's firmware is 20.5.0 and Atmosphere is 1.9.5.
DBI v810 Spanish translation.
The Switch is an OLED with picofly.
For the amount of time required to install such a huge data file, consider the possibility that your microSD card could be starting to show symptoms of corruption.

Like I said earlier, mtp has issues on windows. If you still have issues with dbi backend then the issue is likely your hw.

There have been more changes to mtp in dbi since 810 so maybe he's fixed the timeout, but the changelog isn't very specific, so it's a case of trying and find out.

Or just avoid mtp on windows, can't go wrong there.

I continue my battle with DBI and USB 3.0...
I've tried different packs with Atmosphere and Hekate in case the problem is coming from my .config files or something unrelated to DBI.
I've also tried different versions of DBI and different versions of NBA... 2K26, 2K24... and the result is that the transfer is interrupted with USB 3.0.
If I modify the settings and disable USB 3.0, the game copies perfectly.
The last test would be to change the cable, but I'm sure that's not the problem because I've tried copying several games with more than 50GB in one go and it doesn't fail.
It only happens to me with NBA games...
I attach two screenshots: with v810 and with v658

Dodgy cable/port? In my experience USB 3 (specifically the type A plug) is unreliable, and it often only takes the lightest touch to make the connection drop out briefly. I always get frequent dropouts installing games over USB leading to installs failing, so I gave up and switched to network installs, it's a bit slower but at least it doesn't have dropouts. This is less of an issue if you use a desktop which is stationary but I use a laptop so the cables get jostled all the time.

same. i think it's the fw 20.5. i downloaded some dlcs this morning from fw 20.3 and everything was fine
but after just updated to 20.5, both dbi and sphaira too ( ftp + mtp ) show error noti at the end of the transfer.
i also tried the dbi latest version and game nsps from multiple sources but still the same.

Sphaira will by default abort the transfer if the hash is not valid, meaning the data is modified. You can disable those checks, and if it still fails then there's a problem. DBI just warns rather than failing, so I am not sure there.

Are you saying that those same files that installed on .3 won't install on .5?

Btw the multiple sources thing doesn't matter (usually). All sources use the same files. It's much faster to check this on pc by doing a hash check on both nsp to see if they're the same. If you have a nvme, it can check a 5GB file in like 5s, much faster than the switch.

I tried with another cable and nothing. In another port USB and nothing.

I tried copying it with Shaira and the result is the same. I think there was already a patch to fix this in 18.0.0 or 19.0.0, and it's reoccurring in 20.5.0.
Let's see if Scires can fix it.

SciresM is not fixing anything related to nsps.

i don't see much posts so i guess it's not common for everyone.. tried a few things but still same result..
i think now is just wait for the new updates :/

And have you actually tried the rest of suggestions? That is, tweaking mtp timeout value in dbi config and using dbibackend?

No, I haven't tried that. I'll review the wait time and increase it. But with Sphaira the problem is the same. I can change these value in Sphaira?

If the problem is turns out to be mtp, then no there's nothing you can do. You can try 1.0.0 as that has a mtp fix for windows timeout.

Then again, you haven't said what error is in sphaira.

The problem with Shaira is the same. After a while, it stops transferring.

Yeah sounds like a timeout. Try DBI backend or sphaira 1.0 if you have it
it seems like other files are fine, except only nsps. placed the nsp on sd and install it on dbi still same error.
is the dbi backend safe.. ? i do not trust that dbi dev to open it on my laptop.. where do you find sphaira v1.0 ?

Sound like problem is the file if you copy it to an SD and it still fail to install.

Okay well your problem is different to the person I was responding to because their files do install, just not over MTP.

If the files do not install from the SD card, then the files are bad. If the files installed on an older fw but not on the latest fw, your patches are bad. DBI Will give an error if it fails to install, what is it?

tried mtp and ftp before but still same.

the error in russian and google lens didn't translate well, but now i see the some words ' FatFileSystem Corrupted '
so now i need to reinstall Atmosphere ( or wait for the next update )?

Then the problem is the file if it fails to install.
