DBI Installer launch error

Hello! I used to install games into my modded Switch via the Tinfoil app but it doesn't work anymore. So I tried to do it via DBI Installer but when I open it I get this error.
I never tried the DBI Installer method before and I noticed that I got 3 different versions of DBI Installer for some reason (shown in the picure below).

don't launch it in APPLET mode. Keep R pressed and launch any already installed game to gain FULL RAM mode.

And you should remove old DBI versions, then put DBI 658 (latest original ENglish version) or latest Russian one, or latest patched english one (unofficial, not supported by the dev...and potentially unstable ?)


DBI works perfectly fine on firmware 20.5.0 (even revision 658)

Is there any other way I can install games into my modded switch besides DBI Installer?

there is a lot of homebrews for this :

• DBI (obviously)
• Tinfoil
• sphaira
• Tinleaf
• Goldleaf
• Awoo Installer
• Tinwoo Installer
• Lithium
• etc.

But you should try to fix DBI crash, which is (IMO) the best one (Some installers don't support MTP or NSZ for example)

Did you try with the latest one ? And don't you have some exotic setup (are you using vanilla atmosphere with only hekate and sys-patch ? no fancy sysmodules or things like that ?) ?

ps : tinfoil should also work nicely. And with nut, you can quickly make a server file on your computer and use it directly on tinfoil to install your games.

I can see a "DBI 821 - Russian version only" as the latest DBI version. Is this it or do I have to find an English version, etc?

You don't need to "install" nro files. You just copy them to your SD card. If they are in zip/rar format you need to extract them first. In this instance go into the Switch folder on your SD card and delete everything related to DBI. Then put a fresh copy of DBI onto the card in the same location. Perhaps having multiple versions on your card may be causing issues.

Imo is probably some corruption on the SD card & you'll need to backup what you can, format the card, and start over. I guess wait to see what others think before doing that. Have you tried starting all of your other homebrew to see if they all work? Or a different homebrew app that you don't already have to see if it works? Do all of your games work?

I haven't done the modding of the switch myself someone else did it for me, I have no idea of how to do any of these I'm afraid.

Same thing started happening to me out of nowhere.
For a moment I thought I had a corrupt SD card, but it only happens with DBI, same error.
I think we may have been flagged for using the translated 810 version based on the author message:

Yeah, I just moved to Sphaira, It's a nice integral solution to back up and restores saves too.

Hmmm. Not sure any kind of flag for using the English version is at play. Time will tell, but I would think this place would be filled with more than just 2 reports of it happening by now.
