Is it save (any reports of people being banned) to use the serial codes on a private header in ORAS?

And i use a US version, while living in Europe. Would i have to use the US or EU codes?

you don't use the default header by sky3ds but other public headers where did you find those??

I'm using a header from the gateway rom patcher, I checked it with the sky3ds template and it wasn't on there..

What kind of header are you using? Can you give us a link to it? Maybe it is not a popular header like metal gear solid

I'm not going to give it out in a link.... that would be a bit reckless wouldn't it?

I took a risk using a public header and so far its working great for me( just checked and I'm still able to get online with no error code).

It would not be reckless since it is already a public header. You're just making it more public, if you decide to post the header here. Lol

I would class it as reckless as I have not been banned yet and if I gave it out then other people would start to use it more (than it already is) and I would be putting myself at risk of being banned...

why would anyone do that to themselves?

yes its a Public header but it has yet to be banned so it cant be a very well known public header??

it's good to see that a public header can be used by multiple users without being banned right away.
The other public headers are probably used a lot and on nintendo's radar (more specifically, the MGS header!).

Seemed I've been hit as well but after updating to EmuNand 9.5, I can connect again.

What flashcard were you using (Gateway or Sky3DS etc): Gateway3DS
What game were you playing: Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call (E)
What was your sysNAND firmware version when playing: 4.5.0.4E
What was your emuNAND firmware version when playing: 9.4.0-21E
Were you using a .CIA or a .3DZ: 3DZ If you were using a .3DZ file, from what game was the header you were you using: Super Mario 3D Land (E)
Header Name: CTR-AREP
If you were using a .3DZ file, was the header public or private: private
Can you visit other online Nintendo services such as eShop and Miiverse: eShop seems to work, but was stuck on the loading screen for ~5 mins. Miiverse works
Does that ban apply to just that game or every online game you try: I don't have any other game with online capability right now
Any Additional info:Theatrhythm DLC installed via CIA. Restarting and updating to 9.5 solved the issue.

first time seeing someone banned when playing this game.
Did you always use private header, or did you used a public one at least once in the past?
strange that updating emuNAND got your unbanned. other users couldn't get unban by updating/downgrading/setting emuNAND/etc.
Are you sure it was this error message, not 123? (wrong header, "can't access online with this game", or maybe a temporary network issue)

Well, it's good for you :)

Please check if the error you got is 002-0102 and not 002-0123

I doubt you got the same error as this thread. Updating has never solved anything for anyone. You probably got a connecting error which has similar numbers.

Probably it was a connection issue. Can't check it now since the error's gone. The numbers might have been 002-0123, I can't remember exactly. Never mind.

Today, March 10th 2015, I have been banned from Nintendo's servers. Dangit.

Using Sky3ds V9.5.0-23, didn't know what private headers were and looked up error code 002-0102 online and this... so sad and mad rn.

Is there no way to fix this problem? Anything I could try? Thanks

EDIT: Also if you fix the public headers to private with the new sky3ds SkyTempIDEdit would the online function work again?

If things haven't changed, it's not a permaban. You have to wait 15 days.

In the meantime, get a private header (buy a cheap game and dump it with Gateway's firmware -- you don't need a Gateway for this).

Oh thank you sooooooooooooo much!!!! I thought I would have to re-buy another 3ds which I do not have the money for. You sir made my day.
Could I make a private header with the tool on Sky3ds' website called SkyTempIDEdit or do I have to do what you wrote about the dump with Gateway firmware?

Basically you get the Gateway's firmware file from their website, then you put it at the root of your SD card. However, I don't think it will work for firmwares above 9.2.

Well, the basic theory is that Nintendo is banning people who uses the most public of headers.

So it's best to share your finding if you get banned.... :P

you are still on your second's 15 day ban?
It would be interesting to know if the second time it's still 15 day or more.
I think users on Wii reported the ban time was bigger each time until becoming permanent.

Has anyone been banned playing games with public headers, however, NOT accessing any online multiplayer/online servers (meaning that the wifi may have been enabled, just no multiplayer). I'm trying to weigh the risk of even sticking the damn thing in my 3ds again.
