EMMC memory that heats up

Hello.
I have a switch that does not start, when I put it under the IR camera and start it, I have the emmc memory heating up. I specify that I have no short circuit on the capacitors which go to the memory. Do you think it's bad memory?

yes, the emmc will most likely be defective.
Maybe you can save the content whit mmcblknx.

First buy the mmcblknx
https://www.tindie.com/products/ignas/emmc-reader-for-hac-emmc/

Then try to dump your emmc under Linux
Whit dd. On the GitHub page from mmcblknx is a small guide, if you run in problems I can help you.

I did not see a model specified. I have not taken apart my v1 switch, but I modded my OLED myself, and don’t see how this device could help. The eMMC is a gba directly on the main board, not on a card that you can just pop into that usb device

hmm ok, you didn't mention that you have an OLED. then the mmcblknx is of course useless.

since it seems that you have built a modchip into your OLED, it can only be a short circuit on the emmc chip. remove the dat0 adapter and see if it boots normally.

sudo dd if=/dev/mmcblk0boot0 of=boot0.bin
it puts me that look the picture
do i need to install a driver for it to work?

There is an app named drives.
Or type lsusb
Seems the emmc isn't connected.

lsblk is better, lsusb doesn't show much useful info.

indeed it looks like it is not recognized, but it may be because I use version 20.04.3 while it is recommended to use version 20.04.1. What drivers should I install?
and look on the photo when I turn off my pc it gives me this line

it can of course be that the emmc is completely defective.
You don't really need to install drivers. your Ubuntu version also has the right driver with it.
if it doesn't work at all you can try to put the emmc in the freezer.
but you should prepare well.
you only need the two prodinfo partitions and your keys. you can also dump the keys without emmc (on erista unit's)

prepare the dd commands for the two prodinfo partitions. plug in the emmc and make sure it shows up in the Disk Drives app. then quickly run the dd commands to back up the two partitions. with these (and your bis keys) you can then create a working backup.

hmm he is unfortunately not recognized. does it get hot in mmcblknx too? put the emmc board in the freezer for an hour and try again.
