So I will probably never buy another EA game.
They added drm rights.

The game comes with a one time only code, and if you buy a used sports game you have to pay $10 to get all the online features.

I'll be boycotting EA for now, anyone else?

It's EA, what do you expect?

They like their DRM, the DLC that you only get when you purchase new, and the DLC that gets ripped out of the game so they can sell it seperately.

Don't like it? don't buy it.

DRM not appearing on pirated copies at a download source near you.

There is always the logical fair route of course. You buy the game, and just never worry that you need to use the pirated download to get past the stench of the DRM. That way you have supported the game maker, but not had to suck back on the DRM.

Of course, DRM would go away if the users realized no one buys the games with it.
The thing is we need more people refusing to buy.

I do not download my EA sports games.

That is not why I am mad about the DRM.
It is just that they feel they need to put drm on something legally bought.

I take it you didn't understand my post

DRM is something that can happen to digital downloaded purchases as much as physical copy purchases.

That you legally bought the item is not going to matter to companies that insist on using DRM as a form of defense.

I think DRM is stupid primarily because it only hurts those that legally bought the game. It has no impact on people willing to just steal it via downloading it.

It's not because of piracy, it is because they don't make any money on the sale of a pre-owned game, so in theory they could sell one copy in North America yet thousands could of played it, then sold it to gamestation for example and someone else re bought it.

I think they knew that if someone is going to pirate a game, there's a huge chance they are going to pirate the dlc ect as well

The games cost $10 less though in the first place though, so if you never want to play online you get a game $10 cheaper. They just want a profit of used game sales, because companies such as Gamestop continue to push used games over new games even if they are recent releases. I think its fair, its just an encouragement to buy new, which you should be doing anyway to actually support publishers/devs instead of lining retailers pockets.
