Homebrew Earthbound / Mother 2 text hard to read, emulating with CATSFC

Apologies if this is in the wrong place:

I wanted to play Earthbound/Mother 2 using my Supercard DSTwo. The SNES emulator I'm using is CATSFC.

The game itself plays fine, except for one major annoyance: the text in the game is difficult to read. The top and bottom of the text is cut off, so I have trouble understanding what's being said in the game. Is there any way to fix this? Is it my DSi, the emulator, etc.? Is this a common problem, or is it just me? What should I do?

Set it to display mode 3.

Okay, thank you! I'll try that.

Edit: I can now read the text well, but the picture doesn't completely fit into the top screen of my DSi. For example, the menu is slightly cut off. I tried all the other display modes and 3 works best in this regard, but is there a way to fix this new issue?

Once 3DS mode is hacked, we probably will see a SNES emulator for 3DS that would take advantage of the bigger screens.

The issue is that the SNES's resolution is larger then the DS's.
