Im hoping to get some help.I got a wii its a year old when i bought it i had the drive switched to a d2c drive so i could play my backups anyway it worked great up untill a week ago.Now all of a sudden it wont load any backups in neogamma all i get is error 1204.I did some searching but i cant seem to find an answer to this error.I should also mention it plays my storebought games no problems also plays from my harddrive without any issues.Can anybody please help me i even tried installing the newest neogamma and then i get error 17 something.Id appreciate any help i can get on this thank you.My wii is at version 4.1u

That doesnt help my issue here i got over 200 backup disks id like to be able to use and personally i prefer disks.Oh and my wii is softmodded already.

im still stuck at the same error tried everything but all my storebought games play fine so i know its not a bad drive

Try launching disks with CFG USB Loader ( it can do that too ) . Error 1204 isually "bad burn" or really scratched disk . In you case ...maybe your laser is dying..first sign is not reading backups while still loading originals .

You will also get this error; if you have the newest drive in your Wii.
The new drive that Nintendo has been releasing with newer Wii consoles, have a new
chipset.. this prevents from any dvd-r's being played.

i dont have the newest wii i have a d2c drive.also im thinking if i had a bad laser why would my storebought games work perfect even the scatched ones.and all my backup games worked fine up untill a week ago.

Id like to thank everyone so far for there help i appreciate any feedback but im still stuck with this problem.What could i use to clean the laser maybe that could be it although my bought copys play fine

After days of messing with this wii i came to find out i had a bad ribbon cable id like to thank everyone again for there help it was much appreciated.

You seriously prefer discs?
Jump on the band wagon man, usb loading is SOOOOO much better for loads of reasons.

Quicker, everything in one place, cheaper (no buying discs), no discs getting scratched, and even a lovely interface to select games.
Can think of no advantages to discs at all these days.
