I was having some problems with my emuNAND and so I had to extract my save data from it and now I have fixed my emuNAND and reinstralled Pokemon Moon to it and have made a new file for me to inject the main main file and I have injected the save main file to the Pokemon Moon but when I tried loading it the game said the following:

"The saved data is not compatible with this version, so it can't be used

Please go to the HOME Menu and refer to the manual for this software."

There has been no updates for SuMo so I don't understand how it would be incompatible and

the save data is not corrupt as I was not given the error.

Any way to fix this?

I haven't actually tried this or anything but i saw this on a different thread, when you reinstalled the game, did you play the game to the point where you could save it for the first time and then after try to inject the old save file back into it? Im pretty sure sun and moon need to create data to the sd card or whatever before you actually choose your language.

Delete the secure value, that should fix it.

Are you using the latest JK save manager? You don't need to mess with secure values if you are.

Yes I did create a save point for me to inject the save data to it. Since it's corrupt i'll try to recreate another save point and I'll try to inject it then.

Whats the secure reply?

No need, just delete secure value, should fix it.

The secure value is a string of bits that essentially checks your save to make sure you didn't tamper with it, or try to restore an old save. You can delete it using whatever save manager you use.

I use SaveDataFiler for my saves and i want to inject my save from my leaked Sun copy to my Cartridge Version, if i inject the main from the leaked to the CTR (cartridge) it should be fine right?

Use JK save manager to dump a new save, then take your old main (the one you want to restore) and place it in the folder JK creates (overwriting your old main), then use jk to restore to your cart or cia.

Edit: In my experience JK is easier because it handles the secure values for you.

Nope, I injected my complete save (from the leak) into a Vanilla cart (no save data) and it works fine.
Alrighty because my rxtools (yeah you don't need to tell me about luma and a9lh, i know im getting a n3ds since im banned on this one anyways) won't load the cartridge for the game (game cart removed error) so i just wanted to make sure that i could inject the file from this 3ds' leaked version onto the cartridge so i could play actually play the game on the n3ds without any problems

yall im torn... ive been hacking away at tales of phantasia GBA (the USA version) and have so many documents of reverse engineering i've done
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
