didn't it get it's name changed because of the IP being transferred to gearbox?

Apogee says they never lost the license even though the rights were transferred to Gearbox, so this is still a Duke Nukem game.

This game still seems like a ghost though. Hell, Wikipedia still lists it as canceled (although apparently its alive).

So anyone played it yet? If so, how is it? I don't use torrents or usenet, so I have to wait for it to appear at some ROM site somewhere.

Any particular reason why you don't use torrents?

I used to use ed2k some years back.....about the same as torrents, but with MUCH less CPU overhead. When I tried using torrents, I found it to be just as slow (on average) as ed2k, but much more of a resource hog where I could hardly do anything else while it was running. Probably whatever client I was using at the time, I don't know. Direct downloads are just so much faster and easier to deal with. Sure, you could argue the wait time on a relatively slow torrent against having to wait for it to appear at some direct download site, but at least I don't have to wait long once I do find a direct DL. And I've never gotten a bogus file using direct downloads like I have with ed2k or torrents. Also, I think it's less likely you would get caught direct downloading from some file hosting site than when using torrents. Maybe I'm wrong, but I've never received any piracy notices yet doing things the way I do. Can't say the same for ed2k or torrents.

At any rate, to stay on topic, I wonder if it will have many of his funny comments as you play. Might as well be a Mario game if it doesn't. It's really one of the main reasons people like Duke Nukem anyway.

game has 3d models, but its a 2d-view, dunno if the entire game is like that, and i dont really plan on playing any more of it, really really didnt like it.
"You know me general, if everything else fails, I don't." - Duke Nukem and "I hate pigs." are notable Quotes 'nywayz. duke nukem's humor is still there.
