Hacking DSTTi on 3DS

I downloaded and followed the tutorial on this site, and I have the very first 3DS firmware...1.0.0 or whatever it is. My DSTTi works perfectly on my 3ds

I have 2 questions...

Will I be able to update my 3ds firmware? Or will it not work beyond 1.0.0?

Is there any way to change the loader/loading pic from something other than Finding Nemo, preferrably the regular 'Start DS Card' the original had before I updated? It can be another game, like Mario Bros or something...it just looks kinda stupid having to see Finding Nemo every time I turn on my 3DS...

If not, I just wont update/try and deal with Nemo's face every time I wanna start up my flashcart.

The only way to change the loader picture is to upgrade the firmware. If your card is genuine, you could upgrade, and the new loader picture will be SpongeBob Square Pants.
You must use DSTT official 1.17 kernel when you use this firmware upgrader. Your card would then be compatible with DSi v1.43 firmware and also 3DS 2.1.0.4 firmware. Warning, it doesn't work for all, as it's a community created upgrader (from someone in Asia). Some people have bricked their DSTTi using this upgrade firmware due to their card not being genuine. Post a picture of the inside of your DSTTi to get a recommendation if your card is genuine, if you're unsure.

I dunno, I guess I'll just try to live with it.

Unless 2.1.0.4 has significantly important updates compared to 1.0.0.0

My R4i Gold 3DS has a japanese Sponge Bob game... I'm burning hours in playing a japanese game of sponge bob which I don't even like... I'm awesome like that. xP
And yeah, like previously mentioned you can't change those pics, they usually pick games that aren't very known or not very successful, mainly to avoid suspicion I guess? If they put a big brand name like Mario or Pokemon on the flashcarts, Nintendo would surely take action.
