I spent a nearly 2 more hours reading and figured things out okay.

I was just wondering if the beefed up DSTTi can do the same as a Acekard 2i.

If the Akaio team don't work on an Acekard, it'd be the same. Seriously, guys, these kinds of arguments are irrelevant.

Despite the admirable work that Pong and Retro do I would still recommend the AceKard2i.
Before they started working fixes there were only some japanese fixes and still it may take pretty long for some games to get fixed. For example nobody haven't fixed Jam with the band for DSTT and it's been fixed for acekard for ages. Do remember that official DSTT team has abandoned cart while acekard still have official team and akaio team.
Oh, and don't forget that DSTT own menu isn't practical when card has many games or moonshell2 installed. Also its slower.

As much as I love Pong and Retro's work, I would go with the Acekard 2i.
Acekard just as more to offer.
Although both cards now have a flaw, where if the unofficial teams quite, the users are fucked till a new team is started

i would say acekard if its a choice between the 2
most likely only one gonna be working soon on 1.4.1

plus have better loaders and built better

as myself and retro cannot update the loaders or flash it (we just dont know how to)

acekard much better

DSTwo in my view is the clear head runner tho

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite
    for people with beefy hands.
