Hardware Trying to use used Acekard 2i on DSLite

Hi there, I just recently got a really nice used DS Lite and a used Acekard 2i for it. I can't seem to make the DS recognize the Acekard but I've tried to paper trick many times already. I'm really unfamiliar with this sort of thing but I really wanna play games on here... please help!

Have you tried cleaning the cartridge contacts with isopropyl alcohol? If that's not the case then it could be that the cart got bricked from a failed update, you need a secondary DS to update the cart.
