Download to root means you put the files on the "first level of the card" (if that makes sense), not in any folders.

Right.
Don't put the 'eng' folder on your card, btw, if that's what you did, put the TTMENU folder and the TTMENU.DAT on the root of the card.

A vid??
Is it a .DAT file?
If so yeah, just copy them over to the root of the card.

Hi Ken.

When you download the .zip file containing the firmware, it should have a file named TTMENU.DAT and a folder named TTMENU (which will contain a bunch of files). Drag TTMENU.DAT and the TTMENU folder onto your microSD card.

Make a new folder on your microSD card called "games."

Put one or two .nds files into the "games" folder.

Remove the microSD card from your PC. Make sure you always use the "safely remove hardware" to remove the microSD card.

Insert your DSTT into your NDS. Insert the microSD into your DSTT. You should get to a menu with your games in it. Click on a game to run it.

Your happiness is the only thing that matters to us, Ken.

Make sure you put your games into a "games" folder or it will eventually start freezing up on you. There is a limit to the number of files that can be at the top level (root) of your microSD card. Also, make sure you don't fill up your microSD card all the way. You need to leave plenty of space for save files.

One thing that may help is this,

Game saves are usually 512k

So if you have 50 games on your card, you will only need 25mb space for saves as 50 x 512k is 25mb.

Of course, havin a little extra space is good but i think my method is a easy way of working out space requirements.
