Homebrew DSTT flashcarts bigger than other flashcarts?

I just got a DSTT an it kinda got stuck in the slot, I try pressing it like otehr normal carts and it doesn;t go up, it isn't untill I press it harder than usual that it pops out, I tried agan with my Hotel Dusk cart and it poped up with a little push but the DSTT seems to be the only one that needs more force, I also put it sie by side to another cart and it was slightly bigger, is this normal? should I? trim it...or is it going to make it worse? will keeping this potentially screw my DS slot? I mean i only need to press the micro SD card so the DSTT doesn't nee to leave my DS a whole lot : /
