Hacking DSi US Firmware on JPN DSi

I've bought a Japanese DSi for Christmas last year, and just asking if it will be possible to update the Jpn DSi with the US Firmware ?
Will it change the japanese language to english ? (That would be nice

)

I think so, but I don't have a dsi to test, you would need to copy it from a us one and if it's like how you flash a processes or a flash cart it could be dangerous because the us firmware could be different, but it would likely change it to English.

you are thinking too much. If this was possible like the ones in Korean Wii to US Menu, then it's possible if anyone had the efforts to copy the firmware from unit to unit. But Im certain that they have different codings. That's just my hunge, so dont flame me.

i dont think Nintendo would make it that simply but seeing the dsi isn't released we will have to wait and see.

It's probably possible. If Nintendo decides to allow you to download a firmware updater via your computer and run it via your SD card then yes it should work. And if it does work then that means we're one step closer to custom firmware on the DSi!

Wow that's actually a really good point...but I think the US's/Euro's/Aus's DSi's base firmware does allow flashcarts. I think that article saying it didn't was just trying to keep people from trying.

I pointed that out just in case, like a backup, its better to have options than be stuck with a dsi and an acekard 2i that won't work with it

Indeed i just bought an aussie dsi just for english

nah i bought it aswell because i thought all the pirating i do i should buy something and if there is some nice DSiware

I am sick of the japanese firmware too, I can almost understand some japanese games from just looking at it for several months now.

Well someone might create something that allows you to install a different firmware.

But it would most likely need to be played as a DSiWare game on your SD card or an nds file on a flash cart.
