I have a Acekard 2i, a R4 AND a Supercard DSONEi by the way for your information.

and there are some people who haven't bought the DSTWO yet
He was talking to eltalon (I think)
Also the exploit is apparently executed in a 8mb FPGA (sumthing like that) and I'm pretty sure the SCDS2 has a larger one. Not sure though.
And another, those saying that SCDS2 SDK was a failure, you obviously don't know how long stuff takes to code.

so your saying that the DSONEi won't be capable of DSi Mode?

it said on the front page news that the team will hopefully add commerical rom to it, otherwise it will not be implemented until a OS update or even maybe the linker is used to flash it to do it idk, also i was htinking if the SC team can make something like teh TC ufo usb to flash the ds2 inorder to use dsi mode, which of you would buy it just to do that

i think we need dsi mode also i believe the ds2 will be able to use dsi mode just with the cpu and ram on it not needing a flashing of teh software to use dsi mode

Well, there still is that important issue about being able to play DS games on the flash cart when it is able to boot into DSi mode. When you play a DS game, the system clocks back the CPU and shuts down a bunch of the hardware for the games to play properly.

But if you can play a DS rom on a flash cart that has booted into DSi mode, what will happen? Unless you find some way of slowing the DSi's CPU down, you will be playing your games way too fast. DSi mode isn't all that great unless you can also boot into DS mode to play your DS games, as the system will only let you boot into one or the other mode, and you can't switch to the other without a full system reset.

Even DSi-enhanced games are just DS mode games with a bit of extra code in them that keeps the system from shutting down the camera, like Pokemon B/W.

That won't be necessary. The DS2 has it's own CPU on it. As explained on the SC forums, you just need to put the necessary firmware files on the SD micro card and turn the DSi on. The CPU in the DS2 only needs power, which the DSi provides. It will then see the files automatically, and update itself right there. That is why they never shipped with a USB flasher for the DS2. It is virtually it's only computer that can act independent of the DSi. It just requires being in the DS(i) to get it's power and run.

time to sort out the troll.

1 The SCDS2 is the only card with true AAP. AKAIO only uses a generic AAP that current games are using and therefore some newer games (I think their has been 2 reported) that don't work with AKAIO but do work on the SCDS2.

2 The SCDS2 will be for those wanting to play 99.9% of DS games and enjoy emulation and movie playing on the go. The iCyclo will be for shameless pirates IMO. Don't worry, us SCDS2 users will stick around for a while yet.

why is that?
so far, the only thing we know that can do it run in dsi mode is HOMEBREW. not dsi games.

They can try, but they will fail.

awesome optimism my friend

I'm laughing my ass off right now!!! All the people who said "DSi mode sucks you don't need that. Who wants that, it's not good for anything" are all here today saying "Oh that would be awesome if the DSTWO got DSi mode I can't wait".

@davi everyone will its called no honor among thieves im sure R4's will explode again and newbs will say "is the superultraDSi1.4.1mode with Sparkles R4 mega a good card?"

it'll happen and you heard it here first

edit: misspelled here

which may explain why the homebrew will only work on games and not clycloI mode DSi? If hackers can not rotate the mode games for the DSi so goodbye 3ds! And do not known that the dsi games do not have interests because they are trying to pass protection. Frankly, it's the end of piracy guys, the PSP2 will have no physical support, will have the 3ds buy the games!

I for one never said DSi mode sucks. I have been wanting to have a card that could have access to the RAM and full CPU of the DSi, especially after thinking about a GBA emulator. Now if the DS2 can run in DSi mode, it would have to recode nearly all it's plugins, meaning have to change the SDK, to make use of that mode to the fullest. But now you can imagine the GBA emulator running not just solely on the DS2, but it would also be using the DSi's complete CPU and RAM as well? That might actually fix some issues with games on the emulator that run slowly or choppy, ie Golden Sun.

I might actually keep my DSTWO if they can unlock DSi mode. I think all the extra features have been poorly executed and miserable in performance. If they can unlock the extra ram and possessor, recode everything, and give me a decent GBA emulator I'd be pretty happy. So I wish Team SC the best of luck.

Grr....all this DSi talk

All the tempers at GBAtemp wanted DSi Mode a lot

But the grinch who checked down upon it did not.

He stood there and looked down, his purchase was fruitless

And looked at his phat, which would soon be quite useless.

The devs would all go to the new mode and stay

While the plain DS users lose their sdk.

And the grinch had decided that this must be caught...

Screw DSi, on release day, a 3DS he bought.

So for all of the SCers with old lites and phats

Don't envy the Cyclo for we all know that

Come 3DS, it will be a useless fart

And we will all laugh playing 3D OOT and Mario Kart.

...there's my take on this.

@personuser
I love your post. But I'm thinking there should be a way for it to still boot into DS mode on a DS lite/phat. It would be like the Action Replay DSi. When it loads on the lite/phat, it automatically boots. But on the DSi, it would show the title of a DS game. It has something to do with how the DS and DSi detect the game. It's mentioned on hackmii.org.

So what if they just had it be detected on the phat/lite, and then just boot into DS mode? Then you wouldn't be left out in the cold.

no, it wont, and no they wont.

why should we stop the furthering on "old" technology? not everyone is ditching their ds lite/phat/i/i xl when the 3ds is released. i know i am not, and i will be getting a 3ds at launch. i mean come on, you really think that people are going to ditch developing for the dstwo* or ds all together for a system that probably wont be able to run homebrew for a a long? its not like teams are going to stop updates for their cards and focus just on the 3ds.

*i believe you were the one talking about that on a different thread.
