They're not sitting on a mountain of cash (developing systems takes a fuckton of money)
Nintendo is the only company to turn a profit on their consoles.
Microsoft and Sony sell their consoles at a loss and recoup the money through game sales.

So yes, Nintendo is sitting on a mountain of cash.
I fail to see how a single income source can be used by itself to state knowledge of a company's net profits, which is a combination of many, many more things.

QUOTEThe maker of Super Mario and Pokemon games said Thursday that net profit for the fiscal year ended March 31 fell 18% to 228.6 billion yen ($2.5 billion).

Kyoto-based Nintendo Co., which does not break down quarterly numbers, said annual sales slipped 22% to 1.434 trillion yen ($15.4 billion).
Only $2.5 billion profit this year?! And a paltry $15.4 billion in sales?!
HOLY SHIT THEY'RE IN THE CRAPPER!

Thats a MFing 16.2% profit margin, in retail excellent is 1.2% so yeah that is a mountain of cash. WF world do you live on? Saying the industry is not making any money? They are ripping us off. I buy ALL my games and hardware, but knowing their PM is that high makes me sick.

Nintendo tried all kinds of stuff but haven't been successful. If you manage to get a flashcard the only anti-piracy nintendo have against that is their v1.41 firmware version update that stops some falshcard from working but by now most flashcard makers have already cracked that.

1). Don't bump old topics.
2). That statement isn't accurate. Any "DSi" flashcart out there right now only runs in DS mode, not DSi mode, so I'd say they've been successful thus far.
3). While there is a card that supposedly runs in DSi mode, CycloDS' iEvolution, details are sparse at best currently (unless I've missed something).
