just lock the thread until there is REAL progress!

As we have already stated, if we lock this thread that we'll have a bunch of people making new topics, it's better to just leave one topic open then have 20+ closed topics

No, vaporware would imply that some work has been done but has never been finished, this is more like a long April Fools joke

No one's sure anymore. Someone called Loopy supposedly found it. Rumoured he's been working on the Homebrew Channel since. But nothing. NOTHING, GOD DAMMIT!
Not to sound like a buzz kill but is there any proof it's even been found? much less how it was found? I'd like at least a proof of concept video
No there isn't, but this loopy has made loads of stuff, like FlashMe and stuff. So surely he can't lie. But now, to me, it has been a lie. But no one knows. No one will ever know until something is said.

This is actually quite irritating, while with the psp, a couple of weeks after it's release there's already stuff going on, and people trying to constantly hack it, the DSI however is getting like, no attention, I honestly can't figure out why it's being ignored.

DCemu, a site that I often frequent always has posts about the possibility of the psp being hacked, but for the DSI, they haven't posted anything since yasu put those old videos up on youtube, I can't believe that nobody has (publicly) risen to the challenge yet, I thought that "unhackable" things usually got a ton of attention

1. The DSi isn't unhackable
2. It's being worked on trust us it has the attention of alot of the best Wii hackers
3. Loopy found the common key and alot of people are waiting for him to make a DSi Homebrew channel, just wait.

The people finding exploits for the PSP were generally hackers working for free, whereas the exploits for the DS have largely come from flashcart makers looking to sell their carts. Work on the previously hacked PSP can be used in the new models, while the DSi requires a new start.

In addition, it's folly to compare one system to the other like that - there are technical explanations and reasons as to why one system is hacked while the other remains secure (just compare the Wii to the PS3, for example). This could be getting lots of attention, and you wouldn't know it - it isn't as if all hackers keep a blog with up-to-date progress and trials. As a software engineer, I know that sometimes dead-ends are hit in reverse-engineering and programming, which to the outside world looks like I'm working on the same thing. So while it may look as though it took me x amount of time to get one thing finished, I really may have had to create 3 separate programs, the first two being failures.

Don't get irritated over this, especially if you're not one of the people actually in the trenches trying to break the DSi open.

I'm not sure how ips patching works, but what if we used a rom we bought and used the patcher to compare it to the dumped version on the internet? Couldn't we technically use the data from it with other roms? The dsi could not have a different key for everything because it would have to be updates through wifi, causing potential holes.

Wow, this gets me really excited! Really, really good luck to the people on this team!

One question, and sorry if it is too early to tell, but do you think that you will use a game coding flaw (like the twilight hack) to install this? Or will it need something like bannerbomb? or will it involve the use of a flashcard?

Whatever the answer this makes me really excited!

Good luck!
