anyone confirm if the common key tool released today is genuine?
it is.
sadly :-)

Confirmation the key is genuine.

QUOTE
is the common key tool really real?
No. It's a program I made to hack your computer and kick your dog.
:-)
random uncited quote =/= proof
They can easily be faked.

True, but this one wasn't

Anyone know if decrypted DSiWare works on a flashcart as long as it doesn't use the extra DSi hardware? i.e. Paper Airplane Chase?
No, dsi and ds use different code and launch methods. Its not a simple matter of just features.

What the hell? Why did the post show up blank? >_>
here is what I meant to put:

Nice. XP At least it is confirmed confirmed confirmed 3X over now. People can't say it is fake now. =P

I am looking forward to seeing if this will help hack the DSi... being able to decrypt is one tiny step forward.

so lets get cracking call the hackers and flash card makers give them this to use to make some stuff tell us how to use it and make homebrew boot from SD
The hackers have had the key for ages, they just didn't make it public unnecessarily and cause a commotion with people thinking "Yay, now we get DSi mode homebrew".

NEWSFLASH: This does NOT allow flash carts to run in DSi mode. This does NOT allow code to run without a flash cart or exploit. This does NOT allow you to install a custom channel.

It ONLY
allows you to decrypt existing DSi stuff. That is IT
.

EDIT: More emphasis, need to make sure this isn't over rated etc.

You mean this will not allow flash carts to run in DSi mode or run code YET. It will probably allow those things eventually though.

We can get some hacks out of this?

Eventually yes, but right now it is only useful for people looking for exploits. The first hack will probably involve being able to view your own images on the DSi by reverse engineering the camera code to find out how it signs/hashes the png file.

No I mean exactly what I said. It could indirectly HELP to facilitate these things, but the common key will never allow those things.

Yeah, those of you who are familiar with the Wii scene will know that the common key is found but we still need an exploit (ie: Trucha Bug) to execute code then we can use the common key to decrypt things.

this is interesting still though in the time it took to do this a new dsi console has been released and a whole new console has been anounced... oh well though it would be nice if they finally hacked the sd slot it would be a reason for me to keep my dsi.

It's alright, we'll just take every little step forwards... Step by step! I think what may cause some impatience in some of the fans here, is that they came into the Wii Hacking Scene later, and so everything was pretty much there, so in a sense it could be seen as something that could be done over night... I dunno just my opinion...

e.g. trucha bug not i.e. trucha bug. Trucha bug was ONE exploit, there have been many exploits on that level on the Wii.
