No offense, but exactly do you gain from that casemod?
Unless your DSi is black (which DOES look much better than white)
Seriously, you're gonna end up cutting your ribbon cable/springing whatever other traps Ninty put in... Its not worth the risk.

Also, most cases (especially the ones on dealextreme) are lower quality than Nintendo official ones, I'm speaking from experience here.

It's really not worth it. I had a white DS Lite that I wanted to make clear, I did it, a year later, I am beginning to feel the effects of it. The ribbon cable is dying now, and I'm pretty sure it is because of the case mod.

Anyways, if it is anything like the DS Lite, it isn't particularly hard to do, just make sure you take your time, follow instructions clearly, and don't force anything out. If it doesn't fit, don't jam it in, etc. It isn't that dangerous if you are careful, but I guess that's more of a duh... no brainer.
which is why I use genuine cases.

I wouldn't say that it isn't worth it. It IS worth it, but you should know what you're doing, otherwise you'd better leave your DSi the way it is.

And where the hell did you get a lightblue DSi? >.<

If I'd ever get one I'd buy one of those great metal cases.

No need to open up the DSi then and disassemble it... xD

why not call nintendo and ask if you can swap it as you couldnt get the color you really wanted! ..... or take it to a game store see if you can trade it for a few $'s for the color you want?

would be safer than making a mess up and breaking it with a substandard case ...don't get me wrong the cases are ok but fiddly to replace just ask anyone here that has they will tell you for a beginner its not easy!

Based upon experiences with a DSlite its not really a good idea unless you have no choice/you're out of warranty anyway. Me and my dad had a rather hard time changing my sister's DSlite case after the LED lights broke off. It was fiddly, especially the hinge.
Since the DSi is smaller...well perhaps it isn't the best idea.
