This game... It looks like some platformer from some screens at gamefaqs... The 3D mini characters look kinda funny though.

Supposed to be sort like Smash Bros. Developed by Halfbrick who did some meh games though their Xbox Live games are supposed to be really good.

The Wii version is developed by those who brought de Blob to the Wii and is said to be like LEGO Star Wars/Batman/Indiana Jones for the adventure part and a more open spaced Smash Bros for the battle part.

Can't be that much worser than what Activision have done with most of the Marvel games.

This... Marvel UA2 was just bad... Hopefully this is better. I try the Wii Version with a friend on coop. Looked fun from what I saw..

Graphics look cute, the gameplay, I'm not so sure. Looks kinda basic.

Alright, so... controls are similar to the SSB, meaning Up+Attack results in an uppercut, Down+Attack results in a downward smash, etc. The gameplay's pretty smooth, which could be explained by really undetailed and cartoonish graphics. So far, it seems worth at least a try. Note that I'm not far off and I'd really like to try out multiplayer once my neighbor gets back home.

Only one thing keeps bugging me and that's the chibified art-style. It's just... not as cute or interesting as it's supposed to be.

This seems alright.
Not the greatest, but decent enough quality.
The controls are responsive, the graphics look good and the gameplay, though fairly basic, works well.
Seems like it will be quite short though. The first level only took me a few minutes and there only seem to be about 8 such levels.

Seeing screens from this I thought it seemed pretty stupid, but hearing SSB-esque gameplay (with Marvel characters as well) makes it seem worthy of a try. Could this be the truest SSB clone on the DS? (since there's still some differences between Jump! and SSB).

Story mode seems to be quite secondary in this. Multiplayer is where it's at.

Yup, once you check out the boss battles and the "Battle" mode, you'll see that it's pretty much SSB. You got small multi-platformed arena, several lives, pitfalls, power-ups, similar controls, special moves... it's pretty much Marvel SSB and it's actually quite fun in multiplayer. I can see myself play this for a while with my friends.

Please tell me it makes better use of the touchscreen than looks in the screenshots...

Once you activate the special move, you sorta control it or power it up through touch screen.

It plays better than it looks. Graphics are pretty plain, but it all moves and controls really smoothly.

Anyone looking for a simple SSB clone should give this a shot.

Actually, the "short and stumpy" character styles are a pretty good representation of on what the game is based... popular Hasbro action figures for small children (yes, I'm a dad).

The toys have been out for a while so the game appears to be a a tie-in for the new animated series based on the toys...
