Can someone please interpret the box cover art to me? Is that blobbish shape supposed to be a person? What's wrong with them? Clearly there is something wrong. I think maybe the only words s/he/it knows are food- and whale-related. He sort of reminds me of a character from a Bruce Coville book where he would eat people through his stomach. He's not going to eat players through his stomach if you learn words badly, is he?

It appears to me that it is a large chinese man. He is holding an ancient scroll that teaches vocab, and I believe he is the master of said scroll, for his (AWESOME) kimono has letters on it.

I don't know any Chinese men who look like that. D:> And I've seen (bits of) the Joy Luck club on TCM last summer. They were having a film festival all month of "Asian images in movies" and right afterwards they showed one of the Top Gun movies or whatever it was. I wanted to watch "The Fifth Horseman is Fear" but there you have it.

But... wouldn't the ancient Chinese man with the Fu Manchu mustache be more suitable for giving Chinese word puzzles, rather than English ones? The box art for this game should have John Bull instead:

Yesh, that's how I saw the mouth initially as well. I agree that John Bull should be on the box cover, despite the fact that I have no clue who he is, apart from the fact that he and Billie Piper have worn the same shirt. That flag totally makes for an awesome design; I should put it into my Animal Crossing town. The only thing is, that's a Union Jack (when he's swimming in the sea, I guess), so wouldn't we need someone who looks like they speak Ebonics (aka "chav") for the USA version?
