It's a "Trap Escape Adventure Game" with the series originally being released on mobile phones. Hopefully the whole amnesia, get back lost memories and escape this place story is interesting enough since the DS is really good for adventure type games using the touch screen.

... maybe because its a JAPANESE game xD ?
nope, because it's a Japanese game marketed at older audiences. normally Japanese games/comics/books etc. that are marketed at kids and/or teenagers don't use kanji at all, only katakana and hiragana and sometimes kanji with furigana.

Only kids books use furigana, dunno...A teenager who can't read kanji...is just not literate at all...?
I don't know about normal books, but in manga full blown kanji starts at seinen/josei level, aside mabe from kanji name puns and similar things, which aren't a part of standard dialogue and in most cases are explained by the characters via writing on the chalkboard or something.

Super creepy game. Kind of reminds me of The Uninvited in a way.

Though, does anyone know what you do after you get the key and unlock your way back into the first room? I can't seem to figure it out...
