Yah scoring is a bitch in the game. Just figure you're playing for fun and someday you'll get somewhere.
And yes the boss is angry. If you can get the end story from standard mode (I think it's at lv15 cleared) you'll see a story on why he's a dick and also who the dude is (the janitor looking guy) and why he keeps telling him he sucks when he fails. It's actually for a puzzle game a moving concept for him being a jerk and bagging those beasts. Yah I know...shock surprise, a puzzle game with a plot and one that actually doesn't suck and makes sense fitting into why you bother doing the puzzle.
As soon as it went down from unreasonably bullshit $40 to $20 I bought it some months ago... awesome puzzler, but very evil at times.
