Hello. I am very new to the topic of wii modifications. I bought a modded wii with system menu version 4.2u and drivekey installed (in 2011). I have been able to play game backups fine. Recently, I bought a new Just Dance 2014 game for Christmas. When I tried to play the game, system warned me that I need to update the system, and unauthorized modifications may "brick" the wii console. I immediately turned off the wii. My kids were very sad.
I tried to scan the FAQs and also searched the posts. But I am not technical enough to understand the answers to even the basic question - Is it okay to allow the system update? What are my options here?
