It seems to me once I added my other 3 party members the frame rate would drop while moving. Also the text sound and speed seem to drop a bit as part of that. It's nothing terrible, probably 28fps but it's there. Running R4 with Ys menu and patched Xeno rom.

The piano song that plays when you are saving, stop playing before the song is finished (like the last long note of it). Someone else noticed that?

My game finishes saving after about three notes, so I can't say I've seen this, heh.

I suspect the actual cart plays the whole tune and different flash carts save faster or slower. Mine gets about halfway through (R4 Ys)

Probably has something to do with read/write rates of the different micro SD cards we have. I wouldn't say it's a bug...moreso a performance differentiation.

Basically,to say it straight ... R4 is outdated, and junky.
    Many glitches, very bad compatibility.
    Acekard is cheaper AND better...

Mana94 - XD R4 is cheaper and is working perfectly, and now it has Wood which is a HUGE plus.
About 3 hours in the game, Wood R4. No problems/slow down at all :3

    EDIT:
original R4 is cheaper than a acekard and works as good as a acekard thanks to wood r4 [IMG]

R4 costs about 6 bucks now with shipping, I'd say it's worth all 6. [IMG]

People hate on R4 so much but I have yet to have a single game not work and I don't need all those fancy extras so I'd say it's perfect for me.

I agree with the above. I'm running an R4 with Wood and the XENOM crack. I'm 20 hours in already and have had no slowdown or problems whatsoever. In one part of Stornway my fps drops to maybe 28, but that's it. My SCDSTWO will be arriving in a few weeks, and I think this is the game I'll use to really compare the two cards.

Next time know your facts before stating something. It makes you look stupid if you don't.

    Away from civilization.
The funny thing about this thread is how it went from the bugs in Dragon Quest IX to a debate on which flash cart is better, which makes some of you look, just as bad.

I still haven't played mine yet, so I haven't encountered any bugs. I'll let you know when I do.
