Before you say anything, yes, I am aware that there are far superior media players out there and no, all the popular ones (including Wii Media Centre) crash with a DSI exception error on my HDD or SD card more than Windows Vista. I have my reasons for using Dragon Media Player, primarily due to its unsurpassed stability, but there is a fatal flaw, the channels are reversed when they clearly shouldn't be. Songs that play certain sounds in the left channel are in the right channel and it's obvious that this should not be the case. Now that it's open source, would it be overly complicated to alter the stereo output so it would revert the channels to where they're supposed to go? Right should be right and left should be left, not the other way around.

Unless someone can tell me why WiiMC crashes my 500GB MyPassport HDD (despite making the changes in the .xml file), I'm sticking with DMP.

Forgot the exact name, but something like "load_abhroot" (used to be no_ios_ on reload, I think), but no matter what setting I used, the effing program will display an DSI exception error at random times. Snes9xGx does this on my HDD as well (both programs are made by Tantric/dborth), luckily, I can use the SDHC card just fine. I think that WiiMC and Snes9xGx hate my hard drive, plain and simple. That's why I created this thread, to find out how to force DMP to output the channels correctly.

Well, Tantric told me via email that he has the exact model of HDD that I do, so it can't be the hard drive. I'm not sure why the bloody thing is so picky.
Even if they are the same model, that doesn't mean that they will have the exact same compatibility. I don't know why that is, but I know it's true from experience. Just try MPlayer CE. If it works, delete cIOS202 and see if it still works.

Ugh, it's been so long I almost forgot how to change/delete IOSes and reinstall them on the fly. Tantric's Snes9xGx also has the exact same issue on my HDD...too bad RetroArch isn't compatible with USB hard drives (but that's another thread, but the crashing issue is still the same).

To delete: Load WiiMod, select IOS Manager, and delete 202 (I think you press - but there is a legend).

To install: Download cIOS202[60]-v5.1R from ModMii (page 4) and put it in "FAT:\Wad\". Load WiiMod, select Wad Manager, and install cIOS202[60]-v5.1R.wad

Oh, yeah, I forgot how simple it was. Guess I'm not as active in the Wii homebrew scene as I used to be, thanks for the explanation! If it still doesn't work via HDD, then I'm either SOL or I'll have to stick with SDHC for music.

I wonder if that was the point of game streaming

    But it's a dead end

@Psionic Roshambo, people who cant download it can still play the game
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
If your internet speeds are fast enough. Streaming 4k takes alot. I used to only have 20mb sec, and 4k struggled. Now I have 300mb sec and 4k plays fine.

I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

    @BigOnYa,
and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.
