Hacking Download to HDD from LAN

I'm looking for a way for download the games from my LAN to the HDD connected to the WII
There is some loader or someway for do it?
Is enought for me to share on the net the WBFS partition then i can handle it with the computer.

Even if there would be a way to do it (and I don't think that there is one, WBFS isn't supported by Linux), it would be way to slow, so better forget it. It's faster to just unplug the HD and move the games.

Linux does support wbfs.
You will just need to install manager/driver like you do in windows.
I even did access a wbfs partition over the net using nbd (network block device)

but the wii wifi is to slow to be of any use yes

I putted my WII in a case bag for transport everyday.
So is more simple for me a slow wifi then remove everything and plug to the computer.
PSY what i have to do is use a linux distro and use that software that you told?
wich driver i have to use under linux?
Do you have some documentation about that work?

I don’t remember more then I wrote there.

it might be easier to switch the drive to fat32 and use one of the ftp programs
not much faster but works on every os

If I understand correctly your whole setup is very portable but integrated so that you cant access its components easily?
if true simply get two usb extension cords (usb-a-male to usb-a-female, NOT HUBS)
connect cable one to the wii the other to a pc
fix the other end end of the wii one to an accessible place on your case
switch the usb drives cable as needed

Convert your drive to Fat32 using PsyBlade's app (dead easy and super fast) then use WiiXplorer to transfer them over from a network share--it's pretty painless, but it's really, really slow.

I did not look for a nbd client for windows and cant find one now.
But on the other hand I don’t use nbd except that one time and I dont use windows regularly either.

The program Ergo mention is wbfs2fat btw
I try to have a version that runs without requiring additional software available shortly

I'm pretty sure ftpii can do what you're asking, but to transfer 1x 4GB game it will prolly take about 2 hours, wheres it would prolly take 5-10 minutes if u unplugged the hard drive from the Wii and connect it to the computer

I was thinking about do a FTP server on my windows system and use linux with the WBFS partition mounted on the WII.
Maybe that can be another solution for don't convert the whole partition.
What you think about?
Next week i will take the keyboard from home and i will do some test with linux too.
Wii don't use 54Mbps wireless?
Transfer time is not a problem i will let the wii transfer in the night when i sleep

Due to poor hardware design the wii's wifi is more like 8Mbps - slower than 802.11b. You'll be lucky to get transfer speeds over 700k/s.

Actually I used to do this and the transfer capped out at ~748KB/s, which as another poster stated took forever on even the smallest games. It is also noteworthy that not only is the WiFi slow, but the wired adapter is just as slow. Way to go nintendo!

If you are bent on doing it, you could use ftpii or wiixplorer. I personally used wiixplorer as it allows you to browse SMB shares; you could create a share on your pc and access the files from the wii that way.
