There isn't a DOS emu yet, it may still appear.
A few people have been asking if dosbox could be ported over, it is possible since SCUMM has been ported.

Dos emulators on the PC are only just getting reasonable (able to play 3/486 and early pentium intended stuff on a reasonable spec machine):

As for the DS a few games have been ported and there is SCUMMVM DS.

I believe some other shooters are en route as well and a few rumours of DS Elite are doing the rounds.
There is however no dos emulator and it seems doubtful there ever wil be one.

Did you know you can't use the search option unless your keyword is more than 3 characters long?

If the forums aren't that way there is a lot of strain... as the software would have to keep track of words of 3 characters. Keeping track of so many individual words in case someone were to search for them creates more bandwidth that is wasted.*
It's not worth it if the only convenience is that one can be lazy in what they choose to search for.

*correct me if I'm wrong, but this is what I was told by a different forum's moderators.

But 99% of all searches on this forum consist of 3-letter words:

"V21 for M3"

"G6 with DSL"

".dpg on GBA MP"

"NDS and SSL"

"IRC on DS"

... etc. etc.

Yeah I've found it quite annoying myself at times, but there was enough trouble in the bandwidth area with the old host as it was without allowing 3 letter word searches. It might just be possible now though

it's not a bandwidth problem, it's a resources problem.
the smaller the word you searching, the more cpu power it will use.

have 10 people searching a 2 letter word.

then have a 100 people searching a 2 letter word.
