Homebrew Does the wired Xbox 360 controller work on Wii U?

Hello, lately I've been thinking If I should buy xbox controllers not only for my xbox 360 but also for using it on my wii u, but I don't know if it would work, I know that the wireless versions of the controller work via plugging them in a computer and connecting them to the wii u(?) but I don't know if the wired version needs to be plugged to a computer or if it's possible to just plug it in the wii u usb ports.

Yes, with Hidtovpad

According to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xbox_360_controller the controller uses the XInput protocol and for that there's a HID to VPAD config available: https://github.com/Maschell/controller_patcher_configs/blob/master/xinput.ini

Note that all of this is theoretical, so no guarantees.

Yes I am, do I need something else besides hid2vpad

Nope, but you will have to run Hidtovpad and activate the controller with it each time you boot.
