So, I'm on the regular new game, pulled KOS-MOS out of the gacha core at some point and decided I want to have T-elos too. Tried adding her with the save editor, which, I'm assuming, is the Is Enabled option but she's not showing up on the Blade list. Is she that hard locked to after beating the game or am I doing something wrong?

Manually adding a blade is a bit more complex than just checking them as enabled. For one, you won't get them added to the rare blade list/won't unlock their awakening scene for viewing (that needs to be done in flags and can be hard to find)

You need to also set the "creator" (who the blade will be bonded with) and optionally the time the blade was awakened (clicking "set to current play time" is enough). To avoid further bugs, you need to also go to the selected Driver and make sure they have Greataxe arts set/unlocked (since T-elos is a Greataxe type blade). This is harder to add if they did not already awaken a different Greataxe blade as generally by the time you awaken rare blades you're already high enough level to have all 4 arts slots unlocked - but the editor only lest you set/change the 3 currently equipped arts and not the 4th in reserve/not selected for use.

That said, its generally much easier to just let the game generate the blade for you - but even with the cheat to guarantee a rare blade when using Legendary cores, which rare blade you get will still be random from the remaining ones you haven't awakened (and since T-elos and the Torna blades are locked behind the NG+ flag, none of them will be in the pool at all)

If you don't mind 'restarting' again, I have some NG+ saves prepared to basically be a normal new game run (no unique enemies killed, field skill checks were bypassed so other was no need to awaken any blades from core crystals other than Roc and the Nameless Core Crystal. Similarly no side quests were done/no items were bought and area ranks/items/exp/story blade affinity charts/etc. were all reset to be the same as a standard New Game, except on the "++" save where much of it is set to max in case you want to avoid some of the grind). The only hard difference is that the Wind Knuckles from the Nameless Core Crystal will be a predetermined build instead of randomized (I have a 4-crown rarity one set with basically a 'perfect' legal affinity chart, but it can be edited like any other common blade or copied from your old save after being awakened on both saves). Having used the saves myself, I will warn you there is one catch to using it that needs a minor edit (I found it too long after uploading the saves to change the files uploaded, but its a super easy fix) - detailed here.In any case, this will let you awaken T-elos normally due to the NG+ flag and won't have the normal problems that come with activating the NG+ flag on a normal save

Well, I'm nearly 30 hours in and don't really want to have to redo everything just for one Blade, so I guess I'll just carry on as is. Still, thanks for the assistance.

this game can easily pass 200 hours played on one save even if you remove most of the grind (blame the all the merc missions - especially Ursula's ones you have to repeat a ton). 30 hours isn't terribly far in by comparison, plus you have the knowledge from your previous save(s) to get you to the same point faster - but you do you.

Decided to try the NG++ save file, not only got both T-elos and KOS-MOS in the first five minutes of the gacha rolling but also can swap Pyra out too. I guess I'll stick with it then. Thanks for the whole thing.

Don't forget to fix Rex's Knuckle Claws arts or you'll be stuck with 3 empty arts slots with her active, but other than that, enjoy

Do you perhaps have or know where to get a similar clean-ish new game ++ save file for Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition? I've checked the forum but the results were inconclusive at best. A way to add a ng++ flag on a fresh save file would be good too, I remember doing that with XC3 one and I think it worked just fine.

no, I personally made the XC2 "first run ++" since I had the game but I never could get into XC1 or 3 and don;t have the games. As far as I know no one has done something similar there (and adding the NG+ flag to a normal save causes all kinds of problems as the game assumes you have various features already marked unlocked from a previous run as you progress which are not actually unlocked using a normal NG save. Specifically in XC2, you don't unlock the 3rd blade slot, team attacks, and various other features if the NG+ flag is active as you progress on an otherwise normal NG save - and some story blades don't properly get added as playable, most notably Rex does not get Pyra if starting for the very beginning of a NG save with the NG+ flag active, causing you to only have the junk sword and become unable to progress at multiple points due the game requiring Pyra to be present)
